Two weeks before Eid Al Adha, parents of school-going children say they are unable to finalise their holiday plans as the schools are yet to announce the final dates of closure.

A majority of the schools, including Indian High School and Star International-Al Twar, said the announcement will be made next week.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) confirmed that they are awaiting the official announcement.

“There are many deals for the long weekend, but we are unable to book because the schools are yet to announce their holiday,” said Smitha Philip, a parent of two school-going children.

Some Dubai schools have announced tentative dates for Eid Al Adha.

Raffles International School, Dubai American Academy and Gems schools are among the few who have marked tentative dates. DAA has marked September 22 and 23 while Raffles has marked three days starting September 22.

Gems’ Jumeriah Primary School shows three-days on their academic calendar starting September 22 as “probable” holidays for Eid.
