Waiter at Armani Hotel robs guests

An employee of a prestigious hotel in Dubai cheated guests and pocketed goods and cash worth thousands of dirhams.

The South African waiter at Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa used staff pass key and rifled through people's belongings, reported '7Days'.

He was caught while trying to pocket a gold Rolex watch worth Dh53,000 from the room of a Kuwaiti tourist.

The 20-year-old confessed to the crime. Police found Dh330,000 in cash from his house in Discovery Gardens. He told the police that Dh13,000 was tips he received, and the rest was stolen from guests.

The case has been adjourned for hearing.
