Only 114 buildings over 200 meters that have helipads globally across 13 counties, with two towers in the UAE making it to the list, according to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).

The helipad in Nation Towers Residential Lofts in Abu Dhabi is placed 22nd on the list. It is located at 254-meter height with the building height being 268 meters.

The other building is Burj Al Arab where the helipad is located at 210 meters with the height of the building being 321 meters.

The CTBUH states Burj Al Arab has a cantilevered helipad, which means it allows the architect to design a building without a flat roof.

Emporis data reveals that Dubai has 1,906 tall buildings of which 935 exist, 615 are planned, 299 under construction, 56 un-built and one demolished. Overall, there are 914 high-rises and 467 skyscrapers.

Al Faisal Tower in Doha, Qatar, is placed 55th on the CTBUH list. The helipad is located at 227 meters.

Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, has three towers (over 200 meters) with helipads.

The highest helipad is located in Guangzhou International Finance Center in Guangzhou, China. The helipad is built at a height of 439 meters followed by China World Tower, Beijing, China, at 330 meters; US Bank Tower at 310 meters, Los Angeles; the US, Northeast Asia Trade Tower, Incheon, South Korea, at 305 meters and Abeno Harukas, Osaka, Japan, at 300 meters.

According to CTBUH, the original plan for the under-construction one-kilometer-high Kingdom Tower included a 630-meter high helipad, to be used by the Level 157 penthouse owners, but it was converted into a sky terrace after it was deemed unsafe.
