A pre-teenager died after she fell from the third floor balcony of a six-storey building in Sharjah. The Police officials have confirmed that the 12-year-old girl died as a result of injuries sustained from the fall.

A wooden chair was found on the balcony and it is suspected that the girl lost her balance and fell to her death. However, whether it was a case of suicide or accident, is still under investigation.

It is the second incident within a week. Earlier, a child had died after falling off one of the buildings in Sharjah, while he was feeding grains to birds from his eighth floor apartment. Sharjah Police has again warned children not to lean out from the balconies of apartments as that has led to tragic outcome for children and families.

Colonel Sultan Abdullah Al Khayal, Director of Information and Public Relations Department appealed to families and parents need to take adequate precautions to reduce the occurrence of these incidents. He also asked parents not to leave their children unattended.
