Interferry Conference & Exhibition opens in Dubai

The 37th Interferry Conference & Exhibition on water transport, being held for the first time in the Middle East, has opened at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai and will continue till coming Wednesday.

Eisa Abdul Rahman Al Dosari, CEO of Public Transport Agency, a division of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA),  said: “Through this conference, the RTA and the Interferry will be seeking to achieve a number of objectives including: researching and capturing all data related to developments that have a positive impact on various modes of marine transport industry, sharing information and technical data through bringing together a network of Interferry members to discuss the latest technologies of marine transport industry, encouraging industrial cooperation in the field of marine transportation, improving this sector through setting up a platform for specialists and interested groups to exchange expertise and open up learning channels between members, discussing the key challenges confronting the marine transport industry, and mulling alternative energy sources needed to power boats.

“The 37th Interferry Conference is a opportunity for public marine transport agencies to step up their operational efficiency, upgrade their systems, benefit from the international experiences and models, and review the best global practices to be adopted to revamp the scheduling of marine transport lines,” Al Dosari added.

About 30 companies specialised in manufacturing and operating mass marine transit modes are represented at the Interrferry Exhibition and are exhibiting the latest technologies of ship building, and marine transit modes as well as systems and technologies of operating them.
