International Council for Military Sports honours Mohammed

Mohammed bin Rashid receives International Council for Military Sports (CISM) Sash

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai received the International Council for Military Sports (CISM) Sash for his pioneering role in the progress of military sports and winning the two gold medallions of the individual and team categories in the 2012 FEI World Endurance Championship in London earlier this year.

Vice-President of the International Council for Military Sports lieutenant colonel Abdul Hakim Alsheno, and the Secretary-General of the International Council for Military Sports (CISM) Colonel Alexandre Morisod presented Sheikh Mohammed with the sash.

In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and His Majesty King Hamad bin Eissa Al Khalifa of Baharain, the Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was crowned as the winner of the World Military Endurance Championship which was held in the International Endurance Village in Bahrain on Saturday.

Sheikh Hamdan received the gold medal from Alexander Mario, the representative of The International Military Sports Council (CISM) who congratulated Sheikh Hamdan on this victory.

This is the first time Bahrain hosts the event organised by the International Military Sports Council (CISM).

Teams from UK, Italy, Spain, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Uruguay, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq, Palestine Jordan, Yemen, Morocco and Bahrain participated in the championship.
