International Workers Day celebrated in Dubai

The land borders' department at the General Directorate for Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) marked the International Workers Day by organising celebrations on Sunday at the land port borders premises.

The celebration attended by workers and public in addition to staff and officials from GDRFA-Dubai who show appreciation to the workers during their day by orginsing this celebration.
 
While the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai (PCLA) in cooperation with the Community Development Authority also celebrated the International Workers' Day in Friday at Dulsco company premises.

The celebration was held in the attendance of almost 2500 worker and the representative from Dubai Police Human Rights, Dubai Courts, PCLA, Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities among others.

During the event, several activities were launched including entertainment spots, and the distribution of t-shirts, juices and snacks.

The celebration held on Friday and it gives chance to workers to enjoy time and they express their happiness during their day and they enjoy recreational games, competitions, rewards and gifts.
 

Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Surour, Acting Director of the General Directorate of Residency and foreigners Affairs in Dubai and head of the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs, said on Sunday, "Celebrating the International Workers’ Day reflects our gratefulness to the workers who are devoted to work and put all efforts in their work," he said.

Hesaid we are here to thank workers across Dubai for being helpful and for their great efforts at work.

"We are all workers and we are all here to serve our country," said Major General Bin Surour.

He appreciated the efforts of all the workers in the UAE, saying that they are a key player in the development of the country. He said the PCLA is keen to cooperate with strategic partnership and with federal and local government and the private sector in order to protect labours' rights.

The UAE celebrate annually the International Workers' day as gesture of thankfulness and appreciation for the great role played by workers to build the country.

According to Abdul Momen Al Medawi, Coordinator of Permanent Committee for labour Affairs in Dubai said that this celebration is part of the PCLA one week celebration to mark the International Workers' day.

"We want workers to be happy and we want them to know that we care about them because they are part of our life," said Al Medawi.

In addition, the PCLA on Sunday distributed wristwatches and other gifts to workers on the occasion of the international worker's day.

The PCLA visited on Sunday different companies who abide to workers' safety requirements which stated by the concerned authority here.

PCLA rewarded the workers of those companies.
