Interviews for 800 vacancies with the Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD) in Sharjah are due to begin.

The committee will conduct interviews between May 5 and 27 in Sharjah, Al Dhaid and Khorfakkan to recruit researchers and supervisors to work on temporary contracts for the Sharjah Census 2015.

Successful candidates will work on collecting statistical data and conducting field interviews with families for up to 80 days including training time. The Sharjah Census 2015 is scheduled to launch in October 2015 under the slogan ‘For a Better Tomorrow’, and will collect statistical data on residents, homes, and facilities in Sharjah.

For applicants from the city of Sharjah interviews will be held at Expo Center Sharjah, during the period from May 5 to 13, between 10am and 8pm.

For applicants from the Central Region, interviews will be held in Al Dhaid Sports & Cultural Club, from May 17 to 19, between 10am and 4pm.

For applicants from the Eastern Region, interviews will be conducted at Expo Khorfakkan, during the period from May 24 to 27, between 10am and 4pm.

The DSCD has called on applicants to book their interview through the website www.sharjahcensus.ae, and to ensure they take their National ID cards to the interview.

Sharjah Census 2015 aims to collect comprehensive statistical data on the population, infrastructure, housing and establishments in Sharjah via field interviews and electronic forms. The census will focus on specific social segments, such as the elderly, female widowers or divorcees/separated, job seekers, and people with special needs.

DSCD is the only authorised statistical body in the emirate and the source of official statistical data, as well as the body mandated with all community development related policies and plans. It is a corporate body with full legal capacity to carry out and direct all works and necessary actions to achieve its objectives.
