The back-to-school preparations for UAE students has commenced, with 19, 533 teaching, administrative and technical staff expected to head into work on Sunday.

Staff at the public and private schools that follow the curriculum of the Ministry of Education will mark the beginning of academic year 2016- 2017 on Sunday, ahead of receiving students on August 28.

The Ministry of Education has further developed a plan to streamline school hours to avoid any problems and ensure management of educational facilities in a modern and orderly manner.

Officials noted that the ministry has completed preparations in 490 schools and 41 adult and home students’ centres that follow the ministry’s curriculum.

Earlier, the ministry ordered the formation of cadres and teams of teachers and administrators to monitor the situation.

They paid visits to all schools to identify deficiencies and requirements needed ahead of the start of the new 2016-2017 school year.

Engineer Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Control and Support Services, stressed that early this year, the ministry embarked on thorough preparations to ensure that the ministry’s management of facilities and conservation were operating properly, prior to the start of the school year.
