Jailed drug dealers caught with drugs in jail

Two men jailed in Fujairah on charges of drug dealing were caught with drugs inside prison, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Prison guards found the stuff after searching the inmates’ room following a tip off that narcotics had been smuggled to them.

The two appeared in court on Tuesday for a fresh trial on charges of possessing and taking drugs.

 
Two Asian sailors jailed 4 years for drugs

An appeals court in Fujairah upheld a previous verdict and sentenced two Asian sailors to four years in prison after they were convicted of possessing drugs. The court also ordered deportation of the two from the UAE.

The two were seized by a UAE coast guard patrol after their boat entered the country’s territorial waters.

A search resulted in the discovery of 17gm of hashish and opium while the two were found in an abnormal condition after having narcotics.
