Julphar, a global pharmaceutical firm, is looking to hire UAE nationals. The company will organize an open day on September 30th and will recruit 60 Emiratis every year to reach a total of 300 over the next five years.

During the day young male and female Emiratis will be advised on the various job opportunities available in different divisions across the company.  The hiring is in line with the Absher initiative to enhance job opportunities for the local workforce.

The Absher initiative was launched to enhance the participation of UAE citizens in the labour market, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. It provides the foundation to employ UAE citizens under one clear vision in accordance with UAE Vision 2021.

According to the Interim Committee for Nationalisation (ICN) in the Federal National Council, there are currently 800,000 valid private sector jobs in the UAE available to Emirati candidates.

The ICN estimates that 45,000 Emiratis are currently seeking domestic career opportunities, while approximately 15,000 fresh graduates are added as jobseeker every year according to Tanmia, the National HR Development & Employment Authority. The entity had 16,432 Emirati candidates registered as of May 2013.
