Khalifa holds talks with Sultan Qaboos

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan received on Saturday Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed of Oman at the Al Ain International Airport who arrived on a fraternal visit to the UAE.

Also present were His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Also present at the airport were Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President’s Representative, and Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Ruler’s representative in the Eastern Region.

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed of Oman then held talks on relations between the UAE and Oman and ways to promote them in various spheres.

They exchanged views on the latest regional developments and the march of the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf to realise the aspirations and ambitions of peoples of member states and to serve matters of common concern.

The talks were held in presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa hailed Sultan Qaboos' UAE visit to "his second home country as a source of pride and a sign of sincere brotherhood and friendship."
He also described the visit as part of meetings and exchange of visits to further promote ties and consultations and continuous coordination between the leaderships to enhance the historical distinguished relations in the best interest of the two countries in the context or predominant cooperation and coordiantion in all spheres.

Sultan Qaboos expressed gladness over visiting the UAE and meeting President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He hailed the progress relations between the leaderships and peoples of the two countries.

Sultan Qaboos stressed that relations between the UAE and Oman will see more progress in various spheres thanks to a common keen interest by the leaderships of the two countries.

Sultan Qaboos was also received at Al- Rawda Palace by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan,  Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Executive Council Member Dr. Sheikh Saeed bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, sheikhs and senior officials.

Sultan Qaboos is accompanied by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al-Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, General Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Nu'mani, Royal Office Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al-Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, Yousef Bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Darwish bin Ismael al-Balushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs, Mohammed bin Al-Zubair, Advisor to H.M the Sultan's Advisor for Economic Planning Affairs and other senior officials.

Later Sheikh Khalifa hosted a lunch banquet in honor of Sultan Qaboos and the accompanying delegation.
