The Court of Appeals in Khorfakkan sentenced 13 men to four months in prison and ordered three of them to be deported from the UAE after they were found guilty of involvement in obscene acts at a local wedding.
Police arrested the 13 after a film showing their behaviour at the wedding went viral on social media networks, according to the semi-official daily ‘Al Ittihad’.
The defendants, involved in what is publicly known as ‘vice film’, appealed the verdict of Court of First Instance, which sentenced 11 of them to one year in jail and two others to six months.
The paper did not identify the defendants, but said they included Emiratis and expatriates.
