Showcasing the region’s largest range of shark species, UAE is geared up to host ‘Sharks Alive!’ from April 1 to May 15, 2013.

Shark enthusiasts from across the world will be delighted to see the display at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, Emaar Retail’s iconic leisure attraction in The Dubai Mall, as part of the exhibit

A significant population of Sand Tiger Sharks is already a compelling attraction for visitors to the aquarium. With ‘Sharks Alive!’ nature enthusiasts can learn more about other fascinating species including White Tips, Black Tips, Grey Reef, Bamboo, Horned, Zebra, Swell and the tropical Wobbegong species.

In addition to viewing majestic sharks, visitors will be mesmerized by elegant rays including the exotic Leopard ray, Ribbon Tail, freshwater Matoro Rays, Stingrays and Guitarfish. Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo will be showcasing 15 shark species and 8 ray species during this exhibit.

What more could the visitors ask for as one of the region’s premier ‘edutainment’ attractions, the display at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo will include interactive presentations from aquatic and marine specialists.

These guides will provide them with an opportunity to get close to juvenile shark species at the Underwater Zoo.

Gordon White, General Manager of Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, said: “We continually create novel experiences that give insights into the world’s diverse aquatic wonders. The majestic species on display with ‘Sharks Alive!’ will fascinate visitors as they marvel at one of the world’s most important collection of sharks.”

Located in The Dubai Mall, Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is one of the largest and most diverse indoor aquariums in the world with tens of thousands of aquatic animals, and features the world’s largest acrylic viewing panel.

Underwater Zoo, presents daily talks on the planets diversity in different ecological zones including the Rainforest, Rocky Shore and Living Ocean.
