Less use of appliances during peak hours urged

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has launched its annual Peak Load Campaign, to encourage customers to reduce electricity and water consumption during peak hours from 12 noon to 6pm from June to August.

The campaign urges consumers to switch off non-essential electrical appliances and rationalise use of electricity during that period.

"We urge customers to switch off electric irons, washing and dryer machines, dishwashers, water heaters, and electric ovens during peak hours," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa.
