Maid accused of killing baby in host's washroom

An Asian maid is accused of adultery and killing her newborn, the Criminal Court of Fujairah heard.

The suspect is accused of putting the newborn boy in the tub and holding his breath immediately after delivery, reported 'Gulf Today'.

The case has been adjourned until April 15.

In March an Emirati man informed the Dibba Fujairah police station that his wife discovered a newborn baby inside a plastic tub covered with pieces of cloth in their washroom.

The police patrol immediately visited the scene and questioned the maid, who admitted she had an adulterous relationship with a compatriot and got pregnant. And that she decided to get rid off the baby after giving birth in the washroom.

The father of the baby is also arrested.
