Maid delivers twins in bathroom in Sharjah

A Philippine housemaid delivered twin girls in the bathroom of her employer’s house in Sharjah following an affair with a Bangladeshi worker at a neighboring house.

The Emirati family phoned the police after they found the 35-year-old maid lying in a state of shock in the bathroom after delivering herself.

The maid and her daughters, whose umbilical cords were not cut off yet, were rushed to hospital while police arrested the worker just before fleeing the country.

The family said the maid joined them nearly a year ago and that they had not noticed that she was pregnant until she went into labour and delivered herself.
