The Criminal Investigation Department of Sharjah Police have arrested a maid of Ethiopian nationality for stealing Dh113,000 from the Sharjah family she was working for.
The Sharjah Police received a complaint from MAM, a Yemeni, stating that he was subjected to a theft of Dh113,000.
The complaint also stated that the man found Dh38,000 in a locker in home, which he had not kept there.
The Sharjah Police investigation zeroed in on the maid who after interrogation admitted stealing money and hiding the rest of it in a washing machine.
The Sharjah Police have urged families to keep money and valuables safely hidden away so as not to tempt domestic help to steal.
