Major accident on Sheikh Zayed Road near Ibn Batuta Mall towards Abu Dhabi

A major accident has been reported on Sheikh Zayed Road in front of Ibn Batuta Mall towards Abu Dhabi, by the Dubai Police

Saturday morning traffic was already facing an unstable weather warning from the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), and Dubai Police are urging motorists to be very careful

The NCMS forecast for the weekend had the wind causing dust/sand to blow, thereby reducing horizontal visibility.

The NCMS also advised that the sea will be rough over the Arabian Gulf and Oman sea and that beach-goers should stay away from deep waters and try to avoid the beaches this weekend.

Earlier, UAE residents were greeted with light showers on Thursday evening. The intensity of rainfall was varied. While those living in Bur Dubai reported about medium intensity showers, those living in Ajman said they only felt a few drops of rain.

However, the cloudy skies and strong winds have brought down the temperature in the country.

The maximum temerature in the internal areas of the country today will be in the range of 25-33 deg C, while the mimimum will be about 18-23 deg C.
