Saqr Ghobash, UAE Minister of Labour, has issued a decision allowing retailers in Dubai shopping malls to recruit extra staff for one month during the ‘Eid in Dubai’ festival.
This will enable the retailers to use locally available labour to organize family entertainment events during the month-long festival, when shopping malls will stay open round the clock, without overburdening their permanent staff.
The retailers need not pay any special fee to the government to take on extra staff after getting a permit from the Ministry of Labour.
School and university students over 18 years can be recruited for these temporary jobs.
