Man found hanging in Sharjah

A 38-year-old Indian man was found hanging at his home in Sharjah and police are investigating the incident, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

The man was found hanging with a power cable wrapped around his neck and tied to the ceiling in his room in the Al Nahda area.

The semi-official daily Al Ittihad quoted police sources as saying the body was sent to the coroner for examination and that they were investigating whether criminal act is involved in the man’s death.

In Umm Al Quwain, another Indian man drowned while swimming with friends at dawn on Saturday, the paper said.

Friends managed to pull the 39-year-old man out of the water and tried to resuscitate him but he died before the ambulance arrived.
