Man jumps to his death from rooftop in Al Rifaa

An African jumped to his death from a fourth-floor apartment in Al Rifaa area in Dubai.

'Emarat Al Youm' reported that the 28-year-old expatriate had just arrived at the building with his girlfriend minutes before the fatal jump.

Brigadier Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Director-General, Department of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation, Dubai Police, said he left the girl behind in the car and went upstairs.

Initial investigation rules out any foul play as he was allegedly in an inebriated state and threw himself down from the roof of the building, the police official said. However, there could be a possibility of some misunderstanding with his girlfriend that led to the incident, he added.

The deceased's girlfriend waited a long time for him inside the car and then went looking for him, when she saw his body beneath the building.
