A man from another Gulf country strangled his Asian girl friend to death after an argument during a booze night at a hotel apartment in Ajman before handing himself over to the police, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old man, who had known the woman for nearly a year, told police he wanted to end his relationship with her when he returned to his home country but she kept calling him on his mobile phone.
He said that when he returned to the UAE, the 23-year-old girl invited him to her hotel apartment in Ajman in January and they both had dinner and alcohol.
When his mobile phone rang that night, she grabbed the handset and threw it out of the window before she started to swear and shout at him.
“He said that she called him an animal and that she does not love him because he does not love her…he said that during the argument, he put his hands round her neck and strangled her…he then went to bed and turned himself to the police in the morning,” Ajman’s prosecutor Tareq Al Rashid said, quoted by Albayan newspaper.
