Man smuggles drugs to Fujairah prisoner

A man was arrested in Fujairah after he was caught smuggling drugs to an inmate in a prison, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The dealer, identified as AG, was searched while he was visiting a friend at Fujairah’s central prison, where the latter was spending a jail term in a criminal case.

Prison guards found drugs with the dealer, who confessed to bringing the stuff to his friend in prison, according to Al Khaleej newspaper.

The defendant was tried on Tuesday, but the hearings were adjourned to September 16 for witness statements, the report said.
