Man threatens fire for Dh700 for ill wife

A Pakistani worker phoned Dubai’s police and threatened to set his company’s living quarters on fire unless it pays him aroundDh700 for the treatment of his ill wife.

Police rushed to the place and arrested the worker, who was also found to be taking and possessing liquor in violation of local laws.

Newspapers said the prosecutor charged the worker of making threats against other’s property and having alcoholic drinks.

“He said that he phoned the police and made the threat because he needed the money to pay for the treatment of his wife, who suffered from a heart attack in his home country,” the Arabic  language daily Emarat Alyoum said.
