Mideast - India's No. 2 market for consumer electronics

India’s Export of Consumer Electronics Goods registered a growth of 16% per cent during the year 2012-13 over 2011-12.  

In value terms, India’s export of consumer electronics during 2012-13 is estimated to be $296 million up from $256m estimated in 2011-12.

Middle East countries have emerged as the 2nd top destination for India’s export of consumer electronics during 2012-13.  

Export of consumer electronics from India to Middle East is estimated to be $81m registering a growth of 13% per cent over 2011-12 when India’s export of consumer electronics goods to Middle East countries was estimated to be $72m.

Major item of India’s consumer electronics export to Middle East countries  are loud speakers, electronic watches/clocks, CTVs cameras, public address systems, video CDs, audio-video players etc. informed Kamal Vachani, Regional Director of ESC for the Middle East.  
 
Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) is India’s premier Trade Promotion Association for Electronics and Computer Software sector. ESC has been taking a number of trade promotion initiatives in the Middle East and is organizing participation of 36 Indian Electronics and IT companies in the Gitex 2013 Exhibition in Dubai.  
 
The India Pavilion at GIitex-2013 will be inaugurated by Mr Sanjay Verma, Consul General of India in Dubai on today. The inauguration will be held at Sheikh Rashid Hall.

With the objective of enhancing bilateral trade in the field of computer Software/Services,  ESC is organising India IT show in Mumbai from 26-27 November, 2013  in Hotel Renaissance.  The event will provide global ICT companies an opportunity to meet and network with top Indian IT SME’s under one roof during the two day event, informed Mr Vinod Sharma, Chairman of ESC.  ESC’s regional office in Dubai is coordinating delegation visit of Middle East IT Companies for participation in the forthcoming India IT Show, added Mr D.K. Sareen, Executive Director, ESC.
