The Ministry of Cabinet Affairs has informed the Federal National Council it would postpone a response to a proposal by an FNC member about giving the country’s civil servants holidays on the last 10 days of the fasting month of Ramadan.

FNC member Musabbah Al Kitbi had earlier sent the 10-day break proposal to the Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Al Gargawi and asked him to approve the idea.

“The ministry has informed the FNC that it would postpone a response to that suggestion on the grounds the the minister is on leave” Dubai-based Arabic language daily ‘Emarat Al Youm’ said, quoting a ministry letter to the council.

The paper said the FNC, which is meeting on Tuesday, was scheduled to debate Kitbi’s proposal in the presence of the minister or another ministry official.
