Sharjah Police had an emergency situation on their hands on Monday night when they were alerted about a car missing.
What appeared to be a normal missing report gained significance, when they were informed that a three-year-old child was in the vehicle.
According to local media reports, police set about on an intensive search operation and within two hours spotted the car abandoned in a sandy area in the emirate.
The car, was left with its engine running in Al Qassimiyah area at about 8pm, when it was stolen.
The Afghan child was found unharmed in the abandoned vehicle after a two-hour search.
Police used social media to seek help in locating the car and the saving the toddler.
