Yesterday, Sheikh Mohammed attended the grand opening of the Longines FEI World Endurance Championships 2012 where Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum carried the UAE flag at the parades of the participating countries.

Sheikh Mohammed heads a strong UAE defence of the world team title, bidding for a third successive win, following victories in Malaysia in 2009 and Kentucky, US, in 2010.

The competition features participants from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Algeria and Lebanon. Alongside title sponsor Longines, two Dubai industry giants, Meydan and Emaar Properties, are additional supporters of the championships.
