Mohammed receives Eid Al Fitr greetings at Zabeel Palace

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received at the Zabeel Palace, those who visited him to offer Eid Al Fitr greetings.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and Industry and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, were beside him to receive the visitors, who included ministers, senior officials, citizens and members of the Arab and Muslim communities.

Earlier in the morning, Sheikh Mohammed offered Eid Al Fitr prayers on Friday morning at the Grand Eid Mussala in Dubai.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed and other sheikhs offered Eid prayers along with Sheikh Mohammed.

Joining them, a number of senior officials, citizens and residents also offered Eid prayers at the Grand Eid Musalla. All the worshippers invoked God for the divine blessings for the peace and prosperity of the country.

The Eid sermon was performed by Imam Sheikh Omer Al Khatib, who prayed to God almighty to accept the worship and fasting of the Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan. He also emphasised in his sermon the need for benefiting from the month long fasting, which instilled patience, forbearance and tolerance in the hearts of Muslims.

Citing several verses from the Holy Quran and Prophet's sayings, the Imam explained how important are tolerance and forgiveness in Islam.

Sheikh Mohammed received a large number of Eid Al Fitr well-wishers at Za'abeel Palace Friday morning.

Present at the reception were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The well-wishers included ministers, senior officials from the police, civil defence and armed forces, representatives from the Department of Naturalisation and Residency, UAE nationals and citizens from Arab, Islamic and foreign countries.

Exchanging Eid greetings with Sheikh Mohammed, the guests wished him and the country good health, long lasting happiness and prosperity.

In Sharjah, His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, performed the prayer at Al Badee Mussala. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sharjah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler, sheikhs and senior officials also performed the prayer along with Sheikh Sultan. Sharjah Ruler will receive well-wishers on the first day of Eid Al Fitr.

Eid prayer were also offered by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah at the Grand Eid Mussala in Fujairah.

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain performed Eid prayer at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Umm Al Quwain.

His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman performed the prayer at the Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Mussala in Ajman.

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces offered the prayer at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah offered prayer at Khuzam Mosque.

Earlier, Justice Minister Dr Hadef Jouan Al Dhahiri announced on Wednesday evening that Thursday will be the 30th day of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr will be observed on Friday, September 10.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar are also celebrating Eid Al Fitr on Friday.

The General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowment's Executive Director of Islamic Affairs, Mohammed Obeid Al Mazroui, said the authority had allocated 696 musallas and mosques all over the UAE for the prayers.
