His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, along with his daughter Al Jalila and son Zayed, on Friday toured Dubai Butterfly Garden in Barsha area - the largest covered garden in the world - which includes custom-built domes and a butterfly museum.

Sheikh Mohammed toured the Garden, which covers 4,500 square metres, of which 2,000 square metres is dedicated to butterfly domes, with each housing 26 different varieties of butterflies from various countries. The Garden is also home to 120 species of flowers.

Sheikh Mohammed and his children then visited Dubai Miracle Garden, a two-million square metre garden which showcases 25 species of flowers in 75 colours, arranged in a variety of shapes. Miracle Garden, the world's largest, is also home to 120 floral designs and patterns.

Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Abdul Nasser Rahal, Manager, Akar Landscaping Services and Agriculture - the developer of the two gardens, about the designs and contents of the gardens.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed his admiration of the world-class architectural designs in the Gardens, which he said have become destinations for recreation and entertainment and also contributed significantly to protection of the environment and conservation. He also hailed efforts being made to expand landscaping in the country for the enjoyment of the community and to ensure the environment is pollution free.

Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of Dubai's Protocol Department, accompanied Sheikh Mohammed during his tour of the Gardens.
