Mohammed visits Dubai Statistics Centre

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, visited the Dubai Statistics Centre on Tuesday.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Mohammed listened to a presentation by Dubai Statistics Centre’s Chief Executive Officer Arif Al Mehairi on the outstanding achievements of the centre since its inception in 2006.

Through his presentation Al Mehairi highlighted the tasks of the centre as the official statistics body authorised to collect and analyse statistical data and information in the emirate of Dubai.

It is also tasked with performing population and housing studies and economic surveys.

The presentation was also attended by Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chief Executive of Emirates Group Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Director of Dubai Ruler's Court Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shibani , Commander General of Dubai Police Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, several heads of government departments and institutions.

After the presentation, Sheikh Mohammed inspected the run of work at the centre and met a number of employees to whom he wished more progress and success, and development of their expertise and capabilities.

Concluding his visit, Sheikh Mohammed launched the strategic plan for the Dubai Statistics Centre 2012-2015.

He also ordered that cooperation and coordination between the Dubai Statistics Centre and the local departments be established to gather and publish all digital data related to economic, demographic, social and healthcare development in Dubai.
