Fresh showers have been reported this morning in parts of Sharjah and Dubai.

There have been scattered showers in Al Qusais and adjoining areas of Sharjah and Dubai, with more rains forecasted for the rest of the day today.

UAE National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) is forecasting fresh scattered showers on the country and has issued a 24-hour warning for bad weather conditions.

“Be on the lookout if you go in for outdoor activities which may involve risks in the event of bad weather forecast from time to time,” the NCMS has warned. It is urging residents to remain alert for hazardous weather.

“Be on the alert: hazardous weather events are forecast,” it has warned. “Keep up to date with the development of the weather situation and comply with advice issued by the authorities,” the NCMS warning adds.

The Met office has also forecasted “partly cloudy weather in general, to cloudy at times over scattered areas, with a chance of rain, especially over northern and coastal areas”.

The office is predicting “moderate to fresh winds, especially over sea and openland areas, causing blowing dust at times over western open areas. Sea is rough in general.”

The forecast comes even as the weather in general has remained unchanged from yesterday’s overcast situation, with clouds, accompanied by robust winds and rough seas.

According to the NCMS, moderate rains were witnessed during the weekend in Jebel Ali, Kalba, parts of Dubai, Ghantoot, Al Shoaib, and villages in Fujairah and Masafi areas.

This weather pattern, which is expected to prevail on Monday, will spill over to Tuesday and Wednesday as well, NCMS added.

The marine warning all over the UAE coast, issued on Saturday is still binding till Monday. The sea is rough with low clouds that could cause some rains, thunderstorm and wind. Venturing out into the sea is risky, so fishermen and all other vessel operators have been warned about the risk.
