Globally renowned Islamic scholars and preachers from various countries will address the third Dubai International Peace Conference (DIPC) at World Trade Centre.

The 3-day event, which will kick off tomorrow (April 17) with the recitation of glorious Holy Quran, is expected to attract large number of people from all walks of life and different beliefs. The event will conclude on Saturday.

Around 200,000 people are estimated to attend the lectures starting from Thursday.

The eminent scholars’ addressing the conference include Sheikh Mishary Al Afasy (Kuwait), Dr Zakir Naik (India), Yusuf Estes (USA), Mufti Ismail Menk (Zimbabwe),  Nouman Ali Khan (USA),  Tawfique Chowdhury (Australia),  Muhammad Salah (USA), Abdul Bary Yahya (USA), Shaykh Waleed Basyouni (USA), Sheikh Assim Al-Hakeem (Saudi Arabia), Said Rageah (Canada), Ahmed Hamed (India) and Arnoud Van Doorn (Netherlands).

The conference aims to depict the true image of Islam and its concept of peace, that teaches harmony, moderation, tolerance and renounces violence.

The convention is a perfect opportunity for Non-Muslims residing in the UAE to get clear their misconceptions about Islam. Question-answer sessions are specially designed for the non-Muslims.

Parents attending the convention need not to worry about their kids (aged 5-14) as the little ones can enjoy activities like cartoon shows, competitions, games, painting activities and their favourite food in the Kids Corner at the conference centre.

Kids Corner is designed for the parents’ peace of mind of knowing their children are in best hands and giving them opportunity to pay the full attention towards the activities going on at the convention. Specially trained volunteers will oversee all activities and keep a caring eye on the children.

Officials, who made tiring efforts to invite the maximum people, are hopeful of making this event successful like the previous years. Pamphlets were distributed outside different mosques across the emirates to inform and invite people to the event.

There is an easy registration process and one can register online for free. Details regarding timing, schedule and other activities are also mentioned on the website (www.mrawp.gov.ae).

Valid photo ID like passport copy, Emirates ID or driving licence is mandatory to gain entry into the venue.
