Will he, won’t he?

Well, here’s a pointer to the answer to that question – it depends on where in the world he’s taking you.

For, there is a bunch of cities that apparently make the job of popping the question all the more memorable.

It is a matters of heart, yes, but there’s some science involved – luxury jewellery creators Ingle & Rhode say they analysed data from Instagram to reveal the most popular destinations in the world to propose or be proposed to.

“We combined data from four Instagram hashtags - #isaidyes, #proposal, #proposed and #heproposed to find more than 250,000 photos,” it says.

“The geographical coordinates were identified by checking the longitude and latitude of each image. We then cross referenced these to the nearest city to find the most popular locations for people to get engaged.”

And of course – the very beautiful and picturesque Dubai does feature among the world’s Top 20 cities to propose.

“Sprouting up from the desert, Dubai is the city in the UAE known for luxury shopping and ultramodern architecture,” the jewellery-maker says.

“With one of the most amazing skylines in the world, including the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, Dubai is easily one of the top destinations for romance,” it notes.

“From Paris and the language of love, to the bursting metropolis and skyline of New York City, these are the most romantic locations in the world to get down on one knee according to Instagram,” says Ingle & Rhode.
