Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the purchase of Salik subscription tags will be online through the toll gate’s portal (www.salik.gov.ae).

A campaign is being kicked off through a number of Arab and foreign radio and digital channels to promote the new service. The media campaign will start on Tuesday February 9 through the radio up to February 22 and the digital campaign will start from Tuesday February 9 up to March.

Maitha bin Udai, CEO of RTA’s Traffic & Roads Agency said: “This initiative is intended to meet the needs of road users intending to buy Salik tags. The idea was conceived in the context of the agency’s endeavours to figure out the fastest means rendering its services accessible in a secure online platform, a flexible payment method, and the delivery of the service to the required address.

“The service is now available through Salik page (www.salik.gov.ae), and would be gradually implemented. The service will be available for Dubai-registered vehicles for the use of individuals for the time being. Customers with vehicles registered in other emirates may continue to use the existing retail network for buying Salik tags,” continued Maitha.

Detailing the service procedure, Maitha said: “The procedure of buying Salik subscription tag online (through Salik Portal) only requires entering the correct details in accordance with the conditions set, following which the client would receive a confirmation of the successful transaction. Then, the subscription tag would be delivered to the address specified by the client against the applicable fees.”

RTA is launching a campaign to highlight the online purchase of Salik tag service via a host of Arab and foreign radio channels such as Noor Dubai FM, Arabia, Virgin (foreign), City FM (Indian), and Hit FM (Malayalam) in addition to a number of digital channels.
