Multiple crashes have put brakes on free-flowing morning commute from Al Ain to Dubai, with eyewitnesses reporting tailbacks stretching two kilometres at around 9am.

Two separate crashes have been cited on E66, heading towards the Nad Al Sheba exit, while another accident has been reported on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, after the Al Ain-Dubai intersection.

Further down on Meydan Road, commuters will continue to face gridlock near the Al Khail Road intersection.

At 8.15am, motorists reported two separate crashes on E66, one involving a sedan and a taxicab after the Nad Al Sheba exit, while a two-car fender bender was also witnessed before the same exit.

At 9am, motorists reported Dubai Police vehicles on the scene, but tailbacks stretched two kilometres, backing up until Dubai Silicon Oasis.

One eyewitness spoke to Emirates 24|7 at 9am, saying: “I have been in traffic for the past 30 minutes and I have yet to reach Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.”

Motorists are being advised to find road alternatives.
