Municipality to Metro: Your guide to Dubai Ramadan timings

With Ramadan hours setting in from today, here is an essential pin-up guide during the holy month to learn more on the official work hours for the UAE’s public sector departments and transport routes.

Public sector work hours at a glance

While most of Dubai’s and Sharjah’s public sector departments will work from 9am to 2pm, Abu Dhabi will be extended by an extra hour, to close at 3pm.

Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department

The headquarters and Foreign Service Centres will work from 9am-6pm.

Meanwhile, the customer service department at Dubai Airports will function 24 hours.

Dubai Municipality

The department will maintain its normal working days and function from 9am-2pm.

Vehicle licensing and registration centres

Saturday-Thursday: From 8am-3pm and 9pm-midnight.

Tenancy attestation centres

A regular work week, from 9am-12pm.

Dubai bus transportation

Buses from the Al Ghubaiba, Bur Dubai, Gold Souk, Deira, Satwa, Al Quoz, Hor Al Anz and Al Ghusais areas will operate from 6am to midnight.

Meanwhile, buses from Jebel Ali will operate from 8am-8pm.

The metro feeder buses at Mall of the Emirates, Al Rashidiya, Ibn Battuta and Burj Khalifa will be from 6am-1am.

Green Line and Red Line
Saturday to Wednesday: 5:50am-midnight
Thursday: 5:50am-1am
Friday: 1pm-1am

Marine Transport

Water bus: 8am-midnight

Water taxi: 10am-midnight

Dubai ferry: 10am-midnight

Public Parking

All Parkings in Dubai: 8am-1pm and 7pm-midnight, Saturday-Thursday

Fish Market Parking: 8am-1pm and 7pm-midnight, all week days

Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City: 8am- 5pm, Saturday-Thursday

Dubai public parks

Al Mamzar Beach Park: 8am-11pm

Safa Park: 11am-11pm

Zabeel Park: 11am-11pm
Jumeirah Beach Park: 7am-8pm
Mushrif Park: 11am-10pm

Dubai Prison

The weekly visit timings will change as follows:

Fridays: 9.30am-10.30am for ladies (UAE and Arab nationals); 10.30am-11.30am for gents (UAE and Arab Nationals)

Saturdays: 9.30am-10.30am for ladies (all other nationalities); 10.30am-11.30am for gents (all other nationalities)

Dubai Post Offices

Post offices in the UAE will be open from 9am to 2pm. However, selected post offices will observe extended timings from 9am to 5 pm.

All post-offices will remain closed on Fridays during Ramadan, except the Dubai Airport Post Office, which will continue to be open 24 hours.

Dubai Customs

Customs Centres at the Cargo Village, Airport Free Zone Terminal (5), Al Maktoum International Airport Cargo Terminal, Dubai Flowers Centre, Jebel Ali, Coastal Berth, Al Khor Marine Operations and Hatta Customs Centre will operate 24-hours during Ramadan.

Jebel Ali Customer Service Centre will work from 9am-2pm.

The Communication and e-Services Department will remain open to receive customer inquiries regarding customs transactions on the toll free (80080080) from 7.30am-5pm.

The Postal Customs Centre will operate from 9am-5pm.

The Dubai Metals and Commodities Centre will operate from 8am to 6pm.

Working hours at Al Khor Operations Centre and Al Hamriyah Centre will be from 8am till 5pm.

Ducamz, Silicon Oasis, Dubai Textile City, Dry Port and Claims and Collection at Dubai International Airport Free Zone and Cargo Village, will be from 9am to 2pm.

The working hours at Port Rashid centers will be from 8am till 2pm.

New Customs Declarations Section will be operating round the clock and Customs Declaration Service Section (for cancellation and amendment) will operate from 9am to 5pm.
