UAE’s Ministry of Interior launched a number of electronic services earlier in April to facilitate travellers’ exit and entry through the UAE ports.

These services provide data about the vehicles registered in the UAE, as well as data about the vehicles export certificates. They also help save time and efforts for the travellers through the ports.

Colonel Anwar Al Mulla, Head of ICT Department of Abu Dhabi Police, announced the launch following a meeting with Mubarak Matar Al Mansouri, Executive Director of Customs Operations in the General Department of Customs in Abu Dhabi and a number of specialists in this field. He pointed that the activating the electronic connection of the country’s ports with the mentioned services is under a beta trial phase currently.

He explained that the electronic connection is established between the Ministry of Interior and the General Department of Customs in Abu Dhabi.

Colonel Al Mulla said: “The new services will improve the mechanism of dealing with travelers through the ports of the country and sending the vehicles’ data automatically from and to the General Department of Customs without manual intervention and auditing. This will reduce the time needed to cross the ports quickly and safely.”

For his part Colonel Barakat Al Kindi, Deputy Head of the ICT Department of Abu Dhabi Police, said that the project of the electronic connection between the Ministry of Interior and the General Department of Customs is established, noting that there are electronic links that serve the public.

“We are looking forward for more electronic services that reduce the paperwork and saves time and effort for the public,” he said.
