New parking rules for trucks in UAQ

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, has issued the resolution No. 3 for the year 2015 regarding the parking of trucks in the emirate.

It allocates a parking lot to be set up by the Department of Public Works and Services to accommodate trucks.

The decision bans parking of trucks without traffic plate numbers in the parking lots or in such a way which that hampers optimum utilisation of parking spaces, or at prohibited places.

It adds that parking lots should not be exploited to display vehicles for sale or to engage in any commercial activity or carry promotion without obtaining prior permission from the department.

The resolution is effective from the date of issuance and shall be published in the official gazette.
