The Ministry of Public Works will inaugurate on Thursday the Bypass Road, which starts from the intersection of Al Falaj Mualla and end at the crossing 103 of Emirates Road.

The move follows the directives by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to develop infrastructure projects in a number of areas across the country.

The extension of Dh165 million road starts from Falaj Al Mualla intersection and ends at the Crossing 103 of the Emirates Road.

Abdullah Balhif Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works and Committee member of the initiatives of His Highness UAE President, said that this project comes from the keenness of the UAE President to link the UAE emirates with major road network to facilitate transport and movement nationwide.

He added that the ministry has completed 100 per cent of the road service with a length 17km after additions. It consists of three lanes in each direction in addition to the internal and external shoulders, main bridge at the intersection area with Falaj al Mualla, and sliding road that serves different detours and basement crossings to serve the surrounding areas.

Balhif said the road would ease the traffic on Emirates Road, and link the Dubai Emirate with Sharjah, Ras al-Khaimah, Umm al-Qaiwain and Ajman emirates.
