No nursery ads without permission: Cabinet

The Cabinet has issued resolution No 11 for 2014 on the fees levied against services offered by the Ministry of Social Affairs, including fees of licenses for nurseries, centres for people with special needs, centres family counseling, as well as penalties for violations by these centres.

Minister of Social Affairs Mariam bint Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi said the resolution was aimed at protecting the children and people with special needs enrolled in these centres.

She added that the resolution also stipulates the ministry's approval as a pre-requisite for advertisements about services offered at these centres.

The minister revealed that the number of nurseries in the UAE rose by about 114 per cent to 405 by the end of 2013 from 189 in 2008, while the number of enrolled children went up by 79 per cent to 23,120 from 12,873 during the same period.
