Novotel to hire 200 staff in Dubai ahead of summer opening

The hotel is the largest property to open door under this brand in the Emirates

The 465-room Novotel Al Barsha hotel plans to recruit 200 employees locally through ‘Open Days’ and recruitment agencies prior to its opening in the next few months, said a senior official.

Speaking to Emirates 24l7, Chris McFall, Director of Sales and Marketing at Novotel Al Barsha, said: “We plan to hire over 200 staff.

We have used a combination of methods to recruit the opening team for Novotel Dubai Al Barsha. Firstly, a large number of the team in all positions and seniority levels have transferred from within the Accor network. They bring with them a host of experience, brand and company knowledge, which is important for the opening like this.

“Secondly, we have been recruiting locally both direct through ‘Open Days’ and through agencies to catch local talent with market and cultural knowledge. Finally, we have done several recruitment trips, mostly to the Far East and CIS markets to fill the remaining positions with skilled employees with experience and language skills that will complement our customer base and the hotel.”

It’s the fifth and largest Novotel property to open in the Emirates under the Accor brand.

Targeting leisure and business travellers, the 4-star hotel houses one and three bedroom suites and five food and beverage outlets.

McFall said the hotel will be hiring both local and international talent. “We aim to hire different nationalities to ensure we can attend to any specific requirements and become the ideal staycation for any guest.”

He said: “We will be opening with a leading fitness and spa facility, InBalance by Novotel, that offers state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, personal training services, seven massage rooms, a designated relaxation area, two saunas, two steam baths and an outdoor swimming pool. Membership programmes will be available for UAE residents… (hotel) will also offer nine meeting rooms and a dedicated MAC web corner.”
