A Pakistani man and two Chinese women are accused of offering Dh10,000 as bribe to an employee at Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department in Dubai for releasing the two women.

On June 9, MIA, 36, salesman, was at Naif Suoq when he got a call from his friend Murad who told him that a Chinese woman will call him. She later called him and asked him to meet her at a bank in the Naif area.

The woman, Yang, gave him Dh10,000 and asked him to hand the money to her two friends YA, 39, and YK, 50, and that the women will call him.

MIA received a call from YA who asked him to meet her in the parking lot of Hyatt Regency Hotel. There he saw a white car flashing lights at him. In the car he saw two handcuffed Chinese women in the back and two men in the front seats.

The man next to the driver asked MIA to hand over the money. The second woman told him not to do that unless he sets them free. So he asked the men to set the women free. Then the men asked the women to get down from the car, but did not remove the handcuffs.

Although MIA realised that the two men could be from the police, he gave them the money.

MIA confessed the accusation before the court, but the two women denied the charges.

The court adjourned the case for verdict until September 5.
