A Pakistani man was killed when a truck tyre exploded in his face while he was repairing it at his shop in Sharjah, according to police.
The blast caused serious injuries to the face and body of the 26-year-old technician, who was rushed to hospital in the emirate.
Doctors admitted the man to the intensive care unit after an urgent operation but he died hours later, police said, adding they are investigating whether the tyre was bad or the victim had not applied proper safety rules.
