Passenger dies aboard flight from Dubai to Manchester

A passenger has died on board an Emirates flight, which was bound for Manchester earlier today.

The airline confirmed the death of a passenger with Emirates 24|7, adding the incident occurred on flight EK21, which departed from Dubai at 3am and landed in Manchester at 7.50am UK time.

When quizzed on the cause of death, a spokesperson with the airline stated it could only confirm the incident at this time, saying: “Emirates can confirm that a passenger on board today’s Emirates flight EK21 from Dubai to Manchester passed away during the flight. Emirates expresses its condolences to the family.”

According to reports, all passengers on board the Boeing 777 aircraft were first deplaned upon landing at Manchester Airport, before the deceased’s body was removed.

A Greater Manchester Polices spokesman has been quoted in the media as stating the deceased person was an elderly male passenger and any foul play has been ruled out.

The cause of death has not yet been confirmed but the passenger, who has been described as 'elderly', is understood to have been ill before boarding the Emirates flight.
