Police smash car glass to wake up drunk driver

A car stopped near a shop in a busy street in Saudi Arabia and partly blocked the traffic as angry motorists and passers-by waited for its driver to step out.

A few minutes later, the car doors remained closed, prompting some of them to bang on the window. But the driver did not move.

“They phoned the police as they thought the driver might be dead…police came and tried to wake him up but he would not answer,” Kabar Arabic language daily said in a report from Riyadh.

“They then smashed the glass and got him out…it turned out that he was drunk. They took him to the station.”
