Registration of residential and commercial tenancy contracts of Dubai Land Department can now be done at selected post offices by paying Dh195 per transaction, following an agreement signed between Dubai Land Department and Emirates Post Group.

The agreement was signed by Ibrahim bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer, Emirates Post Group, and Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director-General of Land Department in Dubai.

"We are delighted to partner with Dubai Land Department to offer this service through our post office counters. This represents another  addition to our list of government services," said Bin Karam said.

"The Land Department is pleased to offer registration of tenancy contracts at post offices for the convenience of our tenants," said Sultan Butti Bin Mejren.

"This will enable customers to complete their transactions quickly without going to real estate agents. We urge customers to make use of the postal network to register their tenancy contracts," he said.

Khalifa Al Suwaidi, CEO of Emirates Real Estate Solutions, technical arm of Dubai Land Department, said the registration facility is available at the following post offices: Dubai Central Post Office in Karama, Jumeirah Post Office, Al Riqqa Post Office, Hor Al Anz Post Office and Al Rashidiya Post Office.

The Registration Process includes filling up an application form online or at the selected post office, and present the following documents to the customer service agent for scanning: photo copy of tenancy contract, DEWA bill, passport photocopy with page visa for non UAE nationals and a photocopy of the trade licence (for corporates) and transaction fee.
