The Dubai Criminal Court is hearing two cases of thefts at the Dubai International Airport.

A Bangladeshi office boy, JRA, working at the airport's customs office is accused of stealing shields and a picture of a woman employee, while SKS and SFM - employees of Group 4 Falak deployed at the airport - are accused of stealing from passengers' luggages.

JRA, 37, confessed to stealing a picture of a woman employee from her file at the office because he "appreciates her beauty".

Regarding the shields in his possession, he told the court that he had put the two shields in his pocket and forgot to return them. So the following day, he told his senior about the incident who asked him to return the items. However, investigations have revealed his claims to be false.

Police arrested JRA and found the picture of the woman employee in his wallet.

JRA, meanwhile, led policemen to the other accused. The Bangladeshi told the police that 28-year-old SKS, a porter at the airport, bought a mobile phone from SFM, 32, also a porter, well aware that the device was stolen from a passenger's luggage.

SKS has been arrested and the mobile phone confiscated, while SFM is already in custody in another case - also related to a theft at the airport.

Obaid Khalfan, 25, policeman at the airport’s security control department, testified that following increasing complaints of thefts at the airport and Dubai Customs, the department initiated investigations that resulted in the identification of the suspects.

The court adjourned the case for verdict until October 4.
