Prices of 560 medicines to be cut next week

The Ministry of Health will announce reduction in prices of 560 pharmaceutical drugs on Monday, June 27 as part of its effort with the local and international drugs companies to activate societal partnerships and provide medicines for the UAE residents with reasonable prices.

Dr. Hanif Hassan Ali Al Qassim, UAE Minister of Health, will announce further details at a press conference and in the presence of technical and administrative leaders from big drugs companies, and directors of medical districts, hospitals and ministry's health centers.

Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Medical Practices, emphasised that this step comes as part of the common cooperation between the Ministry of Health and drugs companies to ensure the availability of medicines for all the UAE locals and residents.

"We are also expected to approve the first oral drug for multiple sclerosis patients.
